One of the most common questions I hear progressive campaigners ask is some version of “what tools are you using?”.
So I set out to answer that question.
I took a look at 24 Canadian and international non-profits to see what I could learn about their tech stacks based on public facing information.
Here’s what I found:
On the CRM (Constituent Relationship Management) side, BSD Tools is the most popular, used by a number of NDP sections, the Liberal Party of Canada, and a number of US groups. Other organizations use platforms ranging from Marketo to Campaign Monitor to Everyaction.
On the CMS (Content Management System) side, Drupal and Wordpress both remain popular, with some organizations using ExpressionEngine and other platforms.
More to come.
